About Rachel Slaughter

I grew up in Louisburg, Kansas (yes, the home of Louisburg Ford and the Louisburg Cider Mill) playing volleyball, basketball, and track. In a time before the explosion of club ball in Kansas City, I was lucky to have the opportunity to play volleyball and to participate in track for Park University. While there, I met my husband, best friend and fellow volleyball player, Tom Slaughter. Over the years, we have added 5 amazing kids who went (or are still) on their own athletic journeys. Tom and I have both been coaching for over 25 years and have shared the highs and lows that come with the game.

Why make this site?

Since 2018, I’ve been thinking about a site like this. After years of conversations with parents and players new to club volleyball, as well as those who had less-than-ideal experiences, I realized there was a significant gap. Many parents had numerous questions, and without a central resource for answers, navigating the club journey became challenging. My goal is to create a space that not only provides answers but also serves as a comprehensive hub, offering all the links and resources you need to make the most of your volleyball experience.
